Skinny Page Madness!!

For the last two weeks it has been school holidays and as all you Mums would know you don't get much time to yourself... that means no creating...or very little. I made these skinny pages a few weeks ago for a trade... It is so much fun to decorate this size as it is just that bit  bigger than an ATC, but not too big that you don't know what else to add.  Don't forget "Skinny Saturday" at Sarah's blog, as it is great to have a theme and see what other people do.

Also an update on 'Creative Soul Retreat" ...classes have been filling fast and tomorrow we will be opening registration for single classes as accomodation is now full, so don't miss out on these wonderful tutors and sharing the experience.

  

Creative Soul Retreat Update

What a fantastic time I had today finally viewing the magnificent building and grounds at Amberley. Bevlea and I took a drive to finalise the Creative Soul Art Retreat and girls you are in for a sensational time. Not only will we have the very talented tutors but the atmosphere is one in a million as you can see by the photos. Being March the weather will be warm enough for a swim , yes bring your bathers as there is a pool for those breaks inbetween classes where you want to cool down or maybe a little hit of tennis as there is even a tennis court.

The grounds are peaceful and serene where you can relax and unwind. On Friday evening we will have a night market set on the beautiful balcony overlooking sensational views.               

This lovely building also has accomodation so there is no need to leave...That's right a whole weekend of what we all enjoy 'creating and relaxing'.

A little something for those ATC's

A couple of weeks ago I told you about my purchases from Christina's Crafts but I forgot to mention the great ATC boxes. They are made from a light weight chipboard and come flat so all you do is decorate and assemble. I haven't stop making them since, they are so much fun and great way to store  your ATC's. The lock opens by the little latch (also from Christina) and image is Paper Whimsy.

Trading ATC's

Today I purchased a Web Cam and I have to say they are just the best thing to have. My first call was to my dear friend Sarah in England... we were both in amazement of how we can chat and see each other straight away, especially as we both live so far away from each other. These ATC's  are for a trade I am doing at the moment. The images are Paper Whimsy and the stunning birds are by Digital Collage Sheets.

I was extremely lucky to receive these magnificent ATC's in the post today from the very talent Viola who lives in Germany... Not only did I get these and some other little goods but she also sent me one of her stunning collage pieces.... How lucky am I, thanks Viola!!

Alphabet Skinny Trade

This is one of 26 Skinny Pages I am doing in a trade. The trade involves making 4 Skinny Pages each month till you complete the whole alphabet... Quite a challenge I might add.... On this one I have used Golden paint and Regular Matte Gel.... It  was fun getting back to some painting again and Golden products are by far the best to use.

Creative Soul Retreat

It's finally official so I can let you in on the exciting news...       

The "Creative Soul Retreat"  is now a reality and no longer the biggest kept secret in Melbourne...We have 3 very talented tutors : DJ Pettitt, Bernie Berlin and Stephanie Lee... These wonderful artists will be gracing our shores March 2009.

The retreat will be run in Melbourne  (March 2009) by The Creative Journey and Soul Arts.

Bevlea spent all day Sunday emailing back and forth with the tutors to co-ordinate the dates (Bernie was even checking emails and replying from her iphone on the road home to Tennessee from Chicago)

We have two great venues picked out- so hard to decide between the two....but a decision will be made on Saturday and then Bevlea will open up the website for all to  see the accommodation on Sunday.

Look What I found!

I went for a visit today to see Christina from Christina's Crafts. As all the local girls would know unfortunately Chris has closed her store but now has a great internet site selling lots of goodies. Lucky me as I only live 5 minutes away from her so I went for an afternoon chat and a great shop... 

Chris has always been renown for her unusual bits and pieces and I definitely dropped in at the right time as she had just unpacked some new bits and pieces which are a must for all you arty girls. I picked up some brand new Tim Holtz products so it  looks like tonight I will be up to all hours of the night playing.

A Day To Play

Yesterday I had a play day with Marg  ( I call her young Marg) as we both have the same name. Marg did her very first class with me a few months ago (mini houses) and now there is no stopping her.

 There was lots of laughing, cups of tea and coffee and most of all many hours of CREATING!  Our day was spent making Moo cards and Skinny Pages which she had never tried.
